Vous allez découvrir des lieux chargés d’une histoire fascinante dans un cadre féerique. Vous verrez certains des principaux attraits du cœur historique de la Ville de Québec. Comme les célèbres Place royale, Château Frontenac, Hôtel de Ville et les cathédrales (catholique et anglicane). Puisque c’est une visite saisonnière, proposée l’hiver seulement, nous nous focaliserons sur l’influence de la saison froide sur les évènements historiques, la culture locale et l’architecture.
La visite hivernale du Vieux-Québec a lieu à l’extérieur, dans les rues pittoresques du Vieux-Port et du Petit Champlain (Basse-Ville) et du Vieux-Québec (Haute-Ville), mais nous ferons des arrêts pour se réchauffer.
Pour vous donner un aperçu, voici quelques sujets hivernaux abordés : Bonhomme Carnaval et le plus grand carnaval hivernal du monde, l’impact du pont de glace sur l’économie, le canot à glace, le siège de 1775 avec Benedict Arnold…
Important:
- Le Musée de la civilisation ne vend aucun billet pour la visite guidée hivernale, ce n’est que le lieu de départ du tour.
- Veuillez vous habiller chaudement. Même si nous ferons des pauses au chaud, nous passerons la majeure partie du temps dehors. L’hiver ici est très froid et venteux.
Comment y aller ?
Le Musée de la Civilisation a deux entrées: une sur la rue Dalhousie et l’autre sur la rue Saint-Pierre. Le lieu de rencontre se situe à l’intérieur du musée, à côté de La Boutique du musée, donc côté rue Saint-Pierre.

"Our walking tour guided by Pierre was superb! He started by giving us a really succinct and easy to follow crash course in Canadian history that he then referred back to over the course of our walk. We walked for over 2 hours all around lower Old Quebec and then up to the upper town. Pierre pointed out the various architectural styles from the different influences (French, British) and gave us a really interesting and detailed explanation of the mural in lower Old City to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the founding of Quebec. My favorite part was walking through the ""backyards"" of the lower city houses and learning about the rationale for why things were constructed the way that they were back then. Pierre was careful to frequently check in our comfort levels in the cold and dip into warm buildings intermittently to warm up (and even carried hand and toes warmers for us!) Pierre also went above and beyond the 2-hour official guided tour and took us on a few bonus stops on his way down to the ferry. I highly recommended booking this experience!"

Our tour guide was Pierre! He was really nice and warm! Came a little early and had a little conversation with Pierre and even though I went around the previous day, he managed to engage me in the different sites with his explanations of various locations. Also visited places I did really see previously when walking on my own! It was a very thoughtful and educational experience! :))

Quebec City's history is fascinating and it was also interesting to hear it in context with some US history.
